Precious company, delicious food & wine

Today, was a very good one. After 11 hours of deep sleep in the tent, we cycled up and down and up and down and visited the czech warmshower host Jan. He showed us around the beautiful city Tábor that was built in year 1500 by people who fought against catholic church from their fort. Therefore you find an ancient castle here surrounded by rivers.
On the road, we met the Austrian cyclist Tom who joined us for lunch and later for a beer ;) Maybe we see him again in Vienna.

Unneccessary knowlegde from a visit in the chocolate and marzipan museum of Tábor: A cacao plant has up to 6000 flowers! But only 20-30 cacao pods. They need to be harvested by hand with a special machete to see if they are ripe enough to be harvested.
After that, they need to be peeled and dried under banana leaves to start the fermentation process. During fermentation, the bitterness leaves the cacao beans. After that, it can be roasted and used to produce chocolate. (wi)Read more
