    Seattle, Washington

    July 16, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

An eventful trip today. From Butte, WY to Seattle. The day started out cool, 62 degrees at 7:30 a.m. My kind of weather, Ed's not so much. The top on the convertible apparently doesn't come down until it is 80. That didn't happen until 2 p.m. Yes! At one of the gas stops, a young woman came up and asked for 4 dollars because their car was out of gas. I said I didn't have money on me. She said okay and then drove off with a dude. Apparently not too much out of gas. I am so suspicious anymore. Then back on the road, stopped at this scenic vista. The Columbia River.
Eastern Washington is so different. Very agricultural and arid, a lot of irrigation equipment. I saw fields of onions, potatoes, lima beans, sweet corn, field corn and alfalfa. I appreciated the roadside sign labels. Then on through the gorgeous mountains. Ready to stay in one place for a couple of days. And a bald eagle swooped down next to the car, and shot straight up, probably looking for some food. Never been that close to an eagle.
