    Panama City, Florida

    April 10, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

It took us 4 days sailing through the Gulf of Mexico to arrive at our first destination, St. Andrew's Marina in Panama City, FL. What an interesting experience! We encountered dolphins swimming along the wake of other ships and aside of our boat, pitch dark "in the middle of nowhere" nights when the moon refused to come out. In the night, beautiful phosphorescent microorganisms glowed in the dark blue water. Thank God the waves only came up to about 4ft. The largest waterbed ever made is how I would describe the gulf! We also had many amazing meals aboard, our crew members never went hungry ;)
St. Andrew's Marina was our home for about 5 months. We had the best slip on our pier with great sunset views. We made some awesome "liveaboard" friends. Shell Island was the spot to take our visitors which was only an hour sailing trip away. My best part of this marina was the sound of dolphins coming out the water to get some air and watching them dive back in :)
