    September 13, 2024 in England ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Oops forgot a day! We were in London all of Friday as well! Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Harrods and a walk all around the west end of London which we rarely go to. Day ended with slightly in a rush but we got our train to Edinburgh.Read more

  • Edinburgh

    September 14, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

Second day in our Scotland trip was in Edinburgh. A very old city clearly keeping its medieval charm. So many beautiful monuments and churches we couldn't take enough pictures of them all. We got so lucky with the weather that we were able to take a nap in the sun!Read more

  • Glasgow 1

    September 15, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ 🌙 10 °C

For our first day in Glasgow we finally met up with our friends. Visited a cathedral, had Vietnamese food, and walked around Hogwarts... I mean Glasgow University. Once again a mostly sunny day, who said that it rained in Scotland?Read more

  • Glasgow 2

    September 16, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Second day around Glasgow was spent in trees and undergroud. We took the car north to Go Ape hidden in the forest. After, safely, swinging from branch to branch we adventured to the aptly named Devil's Pulpit. Red river, check. Steep destroyed staircase, check. Absolutely beautiful scenery, check. If Indian Jones were Scottish, we would have truly rivaled him.Read more

  • Glencoe

    September 17, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

From Glasgow we go north through the highlands. We stopped on the shores of Loch Lomond to climb Conic Hill and got a stunning view of the countryside. Back in the car we traveled through the valley of Glencoe (of Skyfall fame) and up to Fort William where we stayed the night. I was a bit annoyed when one person in our car described the amazing views as "Just marshes and lakes".Read more

  • Fort William

    September 18, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

All aboard for Hogwarts! Today we took the fabled Jacobite Train that takes wizards to school. An old coal-powered locomotive took us through stunning views. There were more people on the hills around us taking pictures of the train than passengers in the train! Quick boat tour in Mallaig and then back on the train to go back to Fort William. Truly magical!Read more

  • Isle of Skye

    September 19, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Is there such a thing as beauty overload? The Isle of Skye was so consistently amazing, we were blown away everytime we looked somewhere. From the ruins of a small castle at the northernmost tip of the island, to the sloping mountains to the peaks of Storr we didn't have enough daylight to do everything! It was simply the most beautiful place we had ever seen.Read more

  • Loch Ness & traffic

    September 20, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

From Skye we travel to another place of myth, the Loch Ness. Truly a massive lake with no end in sight. We hunted Nessie but no luck so we drove up the loch to have my birthday lunch at Inverness (a haggis burger, very scottish) and then headed to Saint Andrews where we sat in standstill traffic for 4 hours! So lovely we had to go get a drink at the pub when we finally arrived.Read more

  • St Andrews & cows

    September 21, 2024 in Scotland ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

Last real day on our trip! Visit of the cute beach town of St. Andrews with some very Scottish weather overhead. Walk around the beach and botanical gardens, where we picked some fruits in the orchard. On our way back to Glasgow, we check our last item off of our bucket list, Highland cows!Read more
