• Day 4: Walking down Las Ramblas

    June 27, 2024 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Las Ramblas is a famous street in Barcelona, similar to Hay Street with no traffic.
We enjoyed some yummy gelato and marvelled at the beautiful buildings all around us. All the buildings give a romantic feel with each their own unique balconies. We took soooo many photos of the balconies.
With much anticipation, we headed down one of the side streets on our way to The Gothic Quarter. On our way, we found a gorgeous little gift shop where we oohed and aahed our way through and also had one of the funniest moments of our trip so far. Let me try and set the scene......
In the shop, there are some exquisite masquerade masks, which we thought was a great idea to try on and take some photos. Next minute, a big burly man asks me whether I can speak and read English. Feeling very important and useful, as I thought he needed help, I replied;" yes I can !" . Suddenly, his mood and face changed as he pointed to a huge sign on the shelf, instructing, " please do not touch or try on." I realised we were actually being reprimanded and not asked for help. We stumbled out, unable to breathe as we laughed so much at my gullibility!! Why would someone ask me if I can speak English in Spain as its far likely to be the other way round🤣🤣🤣🤣
We did, however, manage to get the photo 😂😂😂
