• Day 11: Florece

    July 4, 2024, Western Mediterranean ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

After Pisa, we were off to Florence. We instantly fell in love with this city. Florence is the capital of Tuscany and its most populated city!! The streets are swarming with people, and oh, then there are the cars trying to use the roads too!! In ancient times, the city was the centre
    for trade.
Our guide took us on a walking tour through Florence, pointing out some of the major landmarks.
The first stop was another beautiful church, Duomo Cathedral. built in 124 AD. This church is massive and constructed with marble!!! There are two parts to this church. The front building is for baptisms and the big church behind this. At the front is a statue with Mary and Jesus's and above the door is a painting of God giving His blessing.
To the left of the church is a huge statue of David.
After some lunch and a stroll through the city, it was time to meet our driver, who would return us back to the ship. It ended up being a very stressful experience and one we were lucky to survive, as our driver was swirving across lanes because he was struggling to stay awake!!!!!!!!! No joke!!!
