Day 2 Getting Oriented

After arriving on time to Heathrow we caught a cab to the hotel. What should have been a 30 min ride took over an hour as most of the downtown core was cordined off due to the terrorist attack at the Parliament Building yesterday.

We reached the hotel, dropped our bags and did some strolling. Here are a few of the sites along the river near the hotel

Not sure what the statue is, but assume it is a tribute to the blue collar dock workers of days gone by. The next two are photos of a yacht hotel moured just outside the convention center. The next one is of an old dock crane used to load and unload ships, there were several along the way. And the last two are of the London City Airport in the distance and my attempt to capture a plane in decent.Read more
