    Back to KS

o What kind of influence will this trip have on you as a leader?
After our long layover in Atlanta, we are heading back to good ole Kansas. It was a wonderful trip with a lot of new experiences, but I am glad to be home. Through the duration of this trip I learned a lot about myself, one of the main things is I love to accomplish goals. It feels so good to set your mind to something and accomplish it. During our share foods boxing process we had set a goal to try to achieve 1,500 boxes but we at least needed to finish 1,400 boxes. We were all tired but with encouragement and drive we finally got to 1,400. It felt even better because the lazy working at share foods was getting angry with us that we were still going, she did not like the concept of us having a goal. As a leader you realize that once you start a task you are going to work on it till you finish it and get it right. It also showed me that there are people struggling out there and we can something to help. I have always been one to want to help others but most of the time I do not see the actual impacts it had on the person. It was good to get to see the poverty stricken neighborhoods and see firsthand how to affected the people. I will always remember this trip and the impact it had on me, I cannot wait for the next leadership service trip!Read more
