Koh Rong ist eine der Inseln im Süden vom Kambodscha, die man mit der Fähre von der Hafenstadt, Sihanoukville aus erreicht. Mit Rainer und Marjolein von „Tales of Life“ gemeinsam, sind wir von Siem Reap aus, mit dem Nachtbus, nach Sihanoukville gefahren. Nach neun Stunden Fahrt, viel zu wenig Schlaf und diversen „Pinkel-Pausen“ auf kuriosen Gaststätten, Baustellen in Schutt und Asche, sind wir total übermüdet am dortigen Busbahnhof angekommen.
Leider hat uns beim Buchen dieses Trips niemand gesagt, ob ein Transfer vom Busbahnhof zum Hafen im Preis enthalten ist oder nicht. Und so kam es, dass wir von diversen TukTuk Fahrern ziemlich penetrant aufgefordert wurden, mit ihnen zu fahren.
Zum Glück hatten wir noch genug Zeit bis zur Abfahrt der Fähre, um zu überprüfen ob das wirklich notwendig ist.
Einer der TukTuk Fahrer war so sehr genervt davon, dass er uns kein TukTuk aufdrücken konnte, dass er bei unserer Abfahrt extra noch einmal zu uns kommen musste, um uns zu sagen, dass er ja von Anfang an recht hatte. Er war halt leider nicht der glaubwürdigste „Verkäufer“.
Naja…ein Frühstückssüppchen, eine Fahrt mit dem Speedboat und NOCH eine spannende, überteuerte Taxi-Fahrt später, sind wir in unserer Unterkunft, dem Coconut-Beach-Resort angekommen. Als wir am Coconut Beach, also am KOKOSNUSSTRAND eine Kokosnuss bestellten, wurde uns gesagt, dass es welche auf den Palmen gibt, aber sie hätten keine! 🤯 Auch die Unterkunft, war nicht das gelbe vom Ei, gut wir wollten ja etwas sparen, aber das Bad war nicht…sah nicht sehr sauber aus. Moni war nicht begeistert.
ABER das absolute Highlight dieser Insel war das leuchtende Plankton. UNGLAUBLICH! Ihr müsst euch das so vorstellen, dass bei jeder Bewegung im Wasser eine Art „leuchtender Glitzerstaub“ entsteht. Wie in einem Märchen. Biolumineszens ist der Fachbegriff dafür. Ok, wir müssen zugeben, es war nur eine leichte, dezente Art von Biolumineszens. Man sah es wirklich nur, wenn man die Taucherbrille aufsetzte, unter der Wasseroberfläche. Moni hofft vom ganzen Herzen, dass wir es noch nach Costa Rica schaffen, wo man dieses Naturschauspiel viel besser sehen und auch filmen kann. Googlet das mal, es ist der Hammer. Es tut uns so Leid, dass wir das nicht bildlich festhalten konnten. Da es nur unter Wasser zu sehen war, war es zu dunkel für die Kamera.

Koh Rong to jedna z wysp w południowej Kambodży, na którą można dotrzeć promem z portowego miasta Sihanoukville. Razem z Rainerem i Marjolein z „Tales of Life” pojechaliśmy nocnym autobusem z Siem Reap do Sihanoukville. Po dziewięciogodzinnej jeździe, zdecydowanie za mało snu i różnych „przerwach na sikanie” w dziwnych restauracjach, placach budowy w gruzach i popiele, dotarliśmy na tamtejszy dworzec autobusowy, totalnie wykończeni.
Niestety, kiedy rezerwowaliśmy tę wycieczkę, nikt nie powiedział nam, czy w cenie jest transfer z dworca autobusowego do portu. I tak się złożyło, że różni kierowcy TukTuk prosili nas, abyśmy jeździli z nimi.
Na szczęście przed odpłynięciem promu mieliśmy jeszcze wystarczająco dużo czasu, aby sprawdzić, czy jest to naprawdę konieczne dopłacić TukTuka. Jeden z kierowców TukTuk był tak zirytowany, że nie mógł na nas zmusić, że ​​musiał do nas wrócić, kiedy wyjeżdżaliśmy, aby powiedzieć nam, że miał rację od samego początku. Niestety nie był najbardziej wiarygodnym „sprzedawcą”.
Cóż…zupa z makaronem na śniadanie i przejażdżka łodzią motorową i KOLEJNA ekscytująca, droga taksówką później dotarliśmy do naszego zakwaterowania, Coconut Beach Resort. Kiedy zamówiliśmy kokosa w Coconut Beach, na KOKOSOWEJ PLAŻY powiedziano nam, że jest ich kilka na palmie, ale nie mieli kokosa dla nas 🤯 Również zakwaterowanie nie było najlepsze, no cóż, chcieliśmy coś zaoszczędzić, ale łazienka nie była ... nie wyglądała zbyt czysto. Monika nie była zbyt zadowolona.
ALE absolutną atrakcją tej wyspy był świecący plankton. NIE DO WIARY! Trzeba to sobie wyobrazić w taki sposób, aby z każdym ruchem w wodzie tworzył się rodzaj „świetlistego, brokatowego pyłu”. Jak w bajce. Terminem technicznym jest bioluminescencja. Ok, trzeba przyznać, to był tylko lekki, subtelny rodzaj bioluminescencji. Tak naprawdę widziałeś to dopiero po założeniu okularów do nurkowania pod powierzchnią wody. Monika ma nadzieję z całego serca, że ​​nadal uda nam się dotrzeć do Kostaryki, gdzie można znacznie lepiej zobaczyć i nakręcić ten naturalny spektakl. Zobacz w Google, to jest niesamowite. Przepraszamy, że nie mogliśmy tego uchwycić, ponieważ było widoczne tylko pod wodą, było zbyt ciemno dla aparatu.

Koh Rong is one of the islands in southern Cambodia that can be reached by ferry from the port city of Sihanoukville. One of the TukTuk drivers was so annoyed that he couldn't force a TukTuk on us that he had to come back to us when we left to tell us that he was right from the start. Unfortunately, he wasn't the most credible "salesman".
Well...a breakfast soup, a ride on the speedboat and ANOTHER exciting, overpriced taxi ride later we arrived at our accommodation, the Coconut Beach Resort. When we ordered a coconut at Coconut Beach, we were told that there were some on the palm tree, but they didn't have any! 🤯 Also the accommodation wasn't the yellow of the egg, well we wanted to save something, but the bathroom wasn't... didn't look very clean. Moni was not enthusiastic.
BUT the absolute highlight of this island was the glowing plankton. UNBELIEVABLE! You have to imagine it in such a way that with every movement in the water a kind of "luminous glitter dust" is created. As in a fairy tale. Bioluminescence is the technical term for it. Ok, we have to admit, it was just a light, subtle kind of bioluminescence. You really only saw it when you put your diving goggles on, under the surface of the water. Moni hopes with all his heart that we can still make it to Costa Rica, where you can see and film this natural spectacle much better. Google that, it's awesome.
