Celestun

Went to this beach town with Habla friends Molly and Les. Beautiful boat ride in Ria Celustun, famous for its flamingos. Ate at Los Pámpanos restaurant, a beachfront palapa with great views of the Gulf, changing rooms and showers, and large plates of tasty food. We had mixed ceviche and filete de pescado al mojo de ajo. Delish, and did I mention large portions? Our driver for the day was Rafael, who spoke clear Spanish and whom we all enjoyed. He shared much about the food of the Yucatan, and good restaurants, which we mostly understood. He also showed us around the neighborhood where he grew up in Merida.Read more
