Journey to Saarikoski

Ride from Gothenburg to Kiruna and car drive to Saarikoski
Weather: 19°C and no rain/wind in the train, no rain outside, view out of the window was great, no snoring in the night train
Description: The trip from Gothenburg to Saarikoski took us 23 hours (3 hours drive by car from Kiruna). Nighttrains are a nice way to travel over long distances, when full less comfortable. Luckily I had to share one room just with someone else. The Journey through the landscape was amazing. I twas the first time that I got an impression of the real size of the country and how few people are actually living here (10 Mio. inhabitants but three times the size of Germany). Sweden also has many lakes, what I haven't expected (I guess approximatelyC 2000 lakes).Read more
