The cathedral, the Sé de Lisboa, was originally built in the 12th century and renovated and rebuilt over the years. In the 14th century, the populace defenestrated a bishop from one of the towers because they suspected him of plotting with the Castilians. There was a visiting boys’ choir performing when I went to Mass - very beautiful. I also wandered by the church of St, Anthony, supposedly built over his birthplace. Before church I visited the ruins of the Roman theater - built in 10BC, it’s ruins were discovered after the Lisbon earthquake and parts of the remaining structure were built into the walls of houses.Read more
