    Fire, fire at Travancore!

    June 25, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 8 °C

How lovely to be woken up this morning to the sound of an extremely effective new alarm - the building's fire alarm, that is. Plus Meg rushing around like a chicken with her head cut off: “Fire, fire!” Despite her awareness and enthusiasm, she neglected to get dressed until everyone else had their shoes on and was just about ready to step out the door.

Then on our way down the stairs, we encountered a little old lady who was apparently not evacuating the premises quite fast enough for Meg: “Out of the way! Very Important Beanette coming through!”

After the false alarm was confirmed, the kids were lucky enough to be invited into one of the firetrucks to check out the real onboard equipment. There were oxygen tanks, walkie talkies, gas masks, torches and more! The crew were super friendly and happy to show the kids a bit more about the tools of their trade.
