    Harbin (哈尔滨)is perfect for a weekend trip from Beijing. The Russian influence is mainly obvious in the architecture of the touristic street of the city. But the real highlight is not the city itself but the ice city, that opens only during a short time in winter. Every year there will be new huge ice sculptures, that will shape the new face of the biggest pull factor for tourists. The moment you see this art for the first time, is breathtaking and makes the entire trip worth going there.
    The tiger “safari” serves the good purpose of increasing the little number of the tigers population, although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other stops this trip has to offer.
    What I would improve for the next time is definitely my clothing. With minus 25 degrees it wasn’t even considered cold for January. Heat pats in my boots helped a little.
