    The Royal Palace

    December 30, 2017 in Sweden ⋅ ⛅ 1 °C

Today was another day in Gamla Stan (Old Town) so we could take some photos during the daylight. We wandered around for a while taking photos, visiting the local stores and finding the narrowest lane in Stockholm. At noon we walked up to the Royal Palace and watched the Changing of the Guard which was the winter version (less marching), not quite the performance in London. The Palace is huge so we decided to take a guided tour to ensure we captured the history of all the rooms. We walked for hours and hours, it seemed like that anyway, then the bell rang telling us the Palace was closing which confirmed that we had been there for almost 4 hours. Being hungry and a little weary after all the walking, a late lunch/ early dinner was next. John had to try the Swedish meatballs and veggies and I had yummy Chanterelle soup ( mushroom soup).Read more
