    5.6 Huge Rainshower in Viñales

    September 29, 2018 in Cuba ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

One of my favourite moments in Cuba. We met this super open and friendly Cuban guy. We randomly bumped into him on the street and he gave us shelter under some roof. But not just that; we chatted a bit (in broken Spanish), which was super enjoyable, and he afterwards invited us for a kind of tour into the backland/country side of Viñales. This included basically meeting all his family on the way: mother, sister, brother, girlfriend of brother, cousin 1, cousin 2, grad cousin, grandfather and uncle. Super fun!

He showed us several different plants and we ate berries, star fruits and bananas directly from the tree or bush. He even took the girls piggyback to cross the rivers that were coming out of nowhere because of the rain. We also stopped at a café plantation and got an introduction.

And at the end, he was not even demanding money or similar. What a great guy! Would you agree girls?
