Off to Laos

Breakfast with our fellow Kiwi travellers, then it took us ages to download & print our voting papers (special overseas vote, given we will be in Vietnam for the Election Day) ... far out, what a palaver, no wonder some people don't vote! Then the post will take 2 weeks to get to NZ.
Picked up our washing from yesterday @ a local laundry, $2 per kilo ... note to self, don't wash local cheap pants with other clothes!! Many shades of pink 😰throughout the rest of the load!! ... changed some $$ into smaller notes as have learned it is hard for the locals to change large denominations, just got kinda used to the local Cambodian Riel & now we will change again ... USD are accepted everywhere, just sometimes the change is given in both currencies as there are no US coins. This hasn't been hard as the locals are so patient, helpful & friendly.
Had an hour to kill, so hired a tuk tuk to take us for a 30 min ride round the city, then a quick shop in pub street.
Off to the airport for our two flights to Vientiane, Laos ....Read more
