Hooker Valley - Mount Cook National Park

    June 30, 2020 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 1 °C

We decided to extend our stay at Lake Tekapo for one more night last night and I'm so glad we did because the weather finally improved! It was a sunny clear morning. We got ready for the hooker Valley hike which we've wanted to do for a few days. The hike was in Mount cook national park about an hour away. It was a great drive on highway 80 to mount cook, surrounding by towering snow capped mountains and blue lakes. We stopped and took some photos on the way.

The track was fairly flat. We walked over 3 long wooden swing bridges, enjoying the views of mueller lake and the mountains. It took about an hour and a half to get to the end of this track. At the end was a breathtaking view of iceberg- speckled Hooker Lake, Mount Cook and the Southern alps. We took in the view here for a while. It really was amazing. We strolled back afterwards enjoying the views once again.
