    The big crossing

    July 8, 2020, North Sea ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Wow we have been dreaming of the crossing for so long, we always knew its gonna different type of sailing then what we were use to. After all its was an action packed adventure. We made it in 4 days, done 270 miles in upwind, full of emotions and thoughts, that I thought will never cross my mind. I think the first 2 days was the hardest for all of us, after being in a sheltered harbour the waves felt big, upwind was uncomfortable and sleeping was almost impossible. 2 days without making much progress, talking, eating and sleeping, it was a big mental game. Thank god for podcasts and netlix some good distractions, when you not feeling so good.
Eventually we have adjusted, on the 3rd day we were all back to normal. We actually had a good chat, had tasty food and seen the most blue water you can ever imagine, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. An experience I will never forget. Getting to Lerwick harbour I felt so emotional and happy that we made it, I was so proud of Solena and the whole crew.
