Mudgee overnight from Albury.

After leaving Melbourne on the 27th Jan 2022 we chased to stay ahead of the storms and the low coming across from South Australia into Victoria and southern NSW. We made it to Albury on tbe 27th but headed off early which allowed us to mostly avoid the motorways and enjoy some wonderful countryside views.

A quick stop in Wattle Flat to put our wets back on, we pressed through the rain showers to make it to Mudgee.

What a great town. It's seemed a bit flashy for a county NSW town. And the real-estate prices were off the charts crazy. But then we realised it's only 4hrs from Sydney and there's a bunch of good to mis-managed wineries around the penny dropped this town was Sydney's well-to-do's country retreat. What's better than inviting friends up to your winery?

Still, our stay at a local pub benefitted greatly as everything was clean, well managed and very comfy.Read more
