Pic du Midi

Bit tough saying au revoke to part of the team & the house today.
Jan & I took Nicky, Madi & Em to the train station via the sunflower fields.
We then drove south & found a Saturday market which was fun, except the food section.
It was up a long way, through beautiful countryside.
We went in an amazing cable car, via an intermediate station, to Pic du Midi, at 9500 feet...
The ride up was spectacular, especially the second section which took you over a gully.
The views were unbelievable....surrounded by jagged Mts in all directions..it was great!!
From there we drove 2.5ish hours to Carcassone, which is basically a walled city....
This too was wonderful ....reminded me inside a little of Rhodes....narrow cobbled streets.
It was a hive of activity with many restaurants & shops.
By the time we left the sun had gone down & it was all lit up.
