    Full circle of athens

    July 14, 2016 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

Up at 9:45, out the door by 10 oclock to start our say. As per usual, we didnt use a map. We chose a direction & started walking. We stumbled acorss this amazing bakery where we had these giant seaseam bagels with turkey & cream cheese... for 1.50!

We continued on our walk until we decided to ask someone where the Acropolis was... We were walking in the complete opposite way. It took us over 2 hours to find our way... In 40 degree weather. We ended up taking the metro there because we were so lost. Oops haha

We finally got there & waited 30 minutes in line. We climbed to the top first to see the amazing Parthenon & its crazy view. 360 panoramic view of the city. The most beautiful view I have ever seen. We then walked on the east, south & north slopes. We saw all the caves & tunnels that run under acropolis.

We then decided to take a break & get some lunch. We stopped at this restaurant where we had the BESSSST fresh Greek salad in the entire world. Words cannot even describe it.

We walked around town a little bit. We also went to go see Olympus, where the first ever Olympics were held.

We ran into some Canadians from out West that we might meet up later for drinks with. They are also back packing & just got here from Israel.

We then tried to get back home, we accidentally finished the giant circle we walked around Athens the first time. Only this time it took us only an hour to get back... But all up hill

I just showered & Breanna (the Nap Queen) is taking a nap. Surprise Surprise.
