On top of the wo...Bangkok!

🇩🇪Zweiter Tag in Bangkok:
Nach knapp 12 Stunden Schlaf (hab ich anscheinend gebraucht^^) ging es erstmal runter zum Frühstück. Ich werde mich zwar nie an gebratenen Reis mit Ei und einige andere thailändische Gerichte gewöhnen - die frischen Früchte sind aber immer Mega lecker! Heute gab es sogar gutes Brot und gekochten Schinken für mich dazu 👌🏼 Habe dann beim Frühstück auch gleich Anne aus Belgien getroffen und wir konnten nach der Stärkung zusammen etwas Sightseeing machen. Haben uns also aufgemacht zum Baiyoke Tower II, der mal mit 328m das höchste Haus Bangkoks war, mittlerweile aber abgelöst wurde! Dieser hat nämlich ein sich drehendes Panoramadach, zu dem wir gefahren sind. Das Gebäude glich eher einen Labyrinth, so mussten wir auf dem Weg mal rauf und mal wieder runter mit verschiedenen Aufzügen fahren, um dann irgendwann oben anzukommen - das war für sich schon ein Abenteuer, der Blick hat und auf jeden Fall belohnt. Danach haben wir noch eine 45 minütige „Wanderung“ zu MBK Center gemacht, da mein Reiseführer das Essen empfohlen hatte! Nach dem leckeren Zwischenstopp sind wir dann mit einem Taxi zurück zum Hotel - mussten aber dem Taxifahrer erstmal sagen, wo’s lang geht!😅👌🏼
Dort angekommen mussten wir neu Einchecken: Ein paar Meter die Straße runter ist das nur von G Adventures genutzte The Bangkokians Garden Home und wir sind in einen gegenüber dem Hotelzimmer etwas weniger komfortablen 6er Schlafsaal umgezogen, trotzdem ist alles sauber und gemütlich.
Um 18 Uhr hatten wir unser Welcome Meeting mit Joey, unserm Guide. Insgesamt sind 18 Teilnehmer dabei - leider waren erst 10 da, sodass Joey alle Informationen später nochmal geben muss. Wir haben uns alle vorgestellt, hauptsächlich sind Engländer dabei, aber Iren, Schweizer und Australier. Gemeinsam sind wir dann noch in ein nahegelegenen Restaurant gegangen, um Original Thailändisch zu essen - jetzt liegen alle im Bett, da es morgen um 5:45 schon weiter geht nach Kambodscha...

🇬🇧Second day in Bangkok!
After a total of 12 hours of sleep (which I obviously needed^^) I went down to get some breakfast. I probably will never get used to having fried rice with eggs this early in the day - but all these different fruits are just too good! Today they also had toast and ham for me 👌🏼 I met Anne from Belgium who was sitting alone at another table which was pretty great since we could start exploring the city together. First we went to the Baiyoke Tower II which once was the highest building in the city with about 328m. It has a rotating panoramic deck from where one can see the whole city. First of all, it was more like a labyrinth than a tower - we had to go up, just to get down again, switching elevators more than once along the way. That already was an adventure on its own which was rewarded with an amazing view from the top.
We wandered around the blazing heat of the streets for about 4t minutes to the MBK Centre to get a travel guide-recommended lunch. After this delicious pitstop we took a cab back to the hotel - luckily we knew the way since the driver was a little bit confused 😄
After we reached we had to check in again and switch buildings. A few meters down the street we set up our camp in The Bangkokians Garden Home for one night. It was a little kess comfy than the hotel but still quite alright.
At 6pm - finally! - our welcome meeting started. Joey, our guide, gave us the most important information to get started. In total, we are a group of 18 people, this tour is fully booked with mostly British people, but there are also Irish, Swiss, Austrian and Australian people.
