Day Three

Day Three: ///protester.applies.ballooned. Wake up in Nairobi with batteries at maybe 70 percent! Not too bad for 28 hours of travel. I hand washed my socks and underwear and then used the blow dryer for today's ensemble. A wonderful hotel breakfast buffet with outdoor seating starts our first day in Nairobi. Our driver arrived and we head to the Sheldrick Wildlife Orphanage to watch rescued baby Elephants eat and play! A wonderful experience. https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/ Broken clouds and sun make for a warm and pleasant introduction to our first day. Next Stop is the Giraffe Center where we get to feed the Giraffes from an elevated platform. https://www.giraffecentre.org/ Watching out for headbutts and food bowl robbers we have a wonderful time feeding and observing up close these beautiful animals! Time for lunch, and the Talisman restaurant does not disappoint! https://www.thetalismanrestaurant.com/ Very good food and atmosphere. Our next stop? Shopping for authentic, handmade, local crafts. Lots of amazing skill and artististy! Let's just say a new mask had been added to my collection. After an hour long drive we check into our hotel for the next 3 days. The Trademark hotel is comfortable and they have brought me lots of bathroom essentials while I wait for my luggage to magically pop up on the radar. Italian food dinner and we manage to stay awake until 10:00PM. Sadly, no new news on my luggage.Read more
