    moving to whitianga

    January 28 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

today was a very quiet day on which i mostly just rested, for example read a book haha.🤓
in the afternoon we drove from kuaotunu to whitianga, to the house of my host parents, which will now be my home for the next few months. the house is so incredibly beautiful and i feel very comfortable in my new room. the garden is very diverse, from trampoline to vegetable patch. i can see the beach, the sea and even something of whitianga town, because we are on a hill.🤩🤩
after moving into my room we were eating at a indian restaurant and after that we went to a grocery store.

    jungle exploration

    January 27 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

today i was walking with my host family in the "garden" or rather the jungle. you really felt like you were in the untouched rainforest (which I logically couldn't have been because of the untouched nature), because you really just walked through small springs, over tree trunks, past waterfalls and small water pools, in which you can swim.🌴🌿🎍
after this great excursion there was lunch and shortly after we drove to a beautiful beach in kuaotunu.
at the evening we had a wonderful dinner, which was a delicious quesadilla and i just talked to my guestfamily, which was very good, because I realize that i dare to say more and more in english.

    a warm day

    January 26 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

today started really great. my host family and i went straight to the beach at 9am in the morning to have a good breakfast with a few friends of them. there were so incredibly delicious things to eat like fruit salad, pancakes, cinnamon buns, oatmeal and more.🤩
afterwards we went back to my hostmom's father's house, where we will stay until tuesday, and they showed me the whole area. it’s pretty as a picture, like so many different types of plants, flowers and fruits.
but when I got really tired at 2 o'clock I slept briefly. in the afternoon i watched the australian opens with the father of my host mother and had a conservation. i even learned that he worked as a teacher in germany for a few years.
in the evening there was a delicious dish with lots of vegetables haha;)

    auckland city and muriwai

    January 24 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

today i had to get up early because the other people from the welcome days and i went to auckland city. the city itself was quite large and somehow reminded me of san fransico mixed with an asian city. my friends and i went to different shops, mainly thrift shops, and then saw with the rest of the group auckland from above, more precisely from the skytower. it was a breathtaking view and really very high. some people who, like me, seem a little crazy, have done bungee jumping from the skytower. after this view and a small snack we went to muriwai by bus to go surfing there. the waves had a really good high for surfing and that's why surfing was so much fun. in the evening our leader from the welcome days tell us how to behave towards our host family. afterwards we either ended the evening with a walk on the beach, talking and listening to music.Read more

    hongkong airport

    January 21 in Hong Kong ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

after a long flight, i arrived at hongkong international airport. everything is huge here and there are also so many different shops. from expensive designer shops such as dior to small candy shops, there is really everything here. but even if you have many options to spend 8 hours at the airport, i‘m so tired right now and the only thing i wanna have is a nap. one thing that struck me the most today is that a lot of people wear mouthguards here, because of a disease.Read more

    start of my big trip

    January 20 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 3 °C

so today, mornig started at 5am💤
when i arrived at frankfurt am main airport, i have to say goodbye to my parents for half a year, which was a little hard, because i will not see them for a long time.
after security, me and a friend, who drives with me to auckland, went in our airplane and see how tiny space we have, it wasn’t so nice at all, them same with food: we only got tiny portions and were really hungry. but at least is was a good flight, without any turbulences and we landed save at hongkong international airport.Read more
