    Mount Etna

    February 3, 2021 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 9 °C

We arrived at night, expecting darkness, and at best, hoping for a puff of smoke when daylight came.
It was erupting none stop, we could see it from before we even started driving up the Volcano, and nothing like these photos, you could see the lava erupting, more like a spray than what you would probably expect, but all the time, and beautiful! It's a shame we couldn't get anything like the real view in a photo, but of course we tried 😂 Turn your screen to its brightest and don't try looking at it in a bright area either as the photos are so dark! But you can make out a little bit at least.
Sitting watching it through binoculars was surreal, maybe the most interesting experience of the trip so far. I wouldn't have ever imagined it would be like that!!!
