Rosedale Abbey- where there is no Abbey
Moved on to this beautiful spot within the North Yorkshire moors for bit of walking.
Took in Helmsley on the way - market day (no bargains) and its magnificent old castle (EH)
Walked over the moor to Hutton Le Hole (spectacular cake in teashop) the following day -up the Rosedale chimney and across the moor - one cyclist on way up the 33% climb almost made it look easy- will have to do a bit more practice - could be tempted by the Rosedale Rumble when I get my legs back.Turned very wet on the high moor coming back - we were the only walkers with an umbrella - foot paths on way back did not correspond with the map - or so I am claiming -very frustrating.
