    Aldeburgh

    July 7, 2018 in England ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

We thought we would have a look at Aldeburgh, a famous small resort in Norfolk and favoured by British Prime Ministers when they want to show how patriotic they are. Nothing like a seaside holiday with a pebble beach and beating rain.
We, however, enjoyed glorious weather - we have not seen rain for weeks. We booked for one night into a campsite close to the seafront, and within walking distance of the town. We walked from the site along the seafront. The shell sculpture was looking resplendent and the town is delightful.
Pubs were packed with people watching the England world cup quarter final and shops were closed early for the occasion.
We took a walk along the beach to see the Marello Tower and a look at the River Alde which was busy with sailing craft - by the time we had got back England had prevailed and everbody was happy.
