    Southwold

    July 8, 2018 in England ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

A few miles up the coast to that other famous coastal resort - Southwold, where we are booked into the council run campsite for 4 nights, ready for us to drive to Lattitude festival on Thursday. A pretty basic campsite, but great location on the coast.
Another lovely coastal resort which was bathed in fine weather when we arrived.
We took a walk along the pier and marvelled at the ingenious and amusing arcade games in "The Under the Pier Show." The water clock is interesting too.
Following day we took the small ferry across the river to see Walberswick and to walk through the marshes to Dunwich.
Dunwich is interesting, a thriving port at one time and large town which has all been lost to the sea. The museum tells its story very well.
It became cloudy and temperatures dropped - a chilly bbq followed. The first meal we've eaten inside for weeks. Hopefully summer has not come to an end already - we are very much enjoying the heat!!!
