    Zambujeira

    October 25, 2018 in Portugal ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

Kirsty left us in the morning to fly back to Bristol. She travelled by Uber taxi to the airport, as taking Hazel into Lisbon airport to collect had proved to be a bit hairy. Carparks at airports do not cater for 3 meter high vehicles. We moved south towards the Algarve, staying on the west coast in the Western Atlantic region. What a fabulous campsite!!!! Plenty of spaces, all very spacious and situated under trees. We decided not to use the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, both filled with sea-water, as they had not been heated.
This is a quiet spot on a glorious coastline. The town is white washed with red tile roofs and a nice sheltered beach.
We walked the Fishermans path southwards dropping down into quiet beaches and rising up onto high cliffs - a very pleasant walk - we were surprised at one point to come face to face with animals from the African plains - eland, ostrich, buffalo etc which were within a large enclosure we walked next to.
