Trip to Arkansas

After driving home after my Cancun vacation in freezing rain, Mike and I took off on our road trip to Arkansas.
We will get to celebrate a belated Christmas with Kim, Andy, and Landon.

Day 2
Trip to Arkansas for Christmas and Lando

We are on the road since 9am. Drove through the remainder of West Virginia and stopped in Bowling Green Kentucky. For breakfast we stopped at Heaters, in Jane Lew, West Virginia.
Nothing appealing on the outside, but a terrific meal with great staff!
We hoped to check in our room by 5, but the hotel had some issues with their system.
We met people working here (deployed) due to floods and tornadoes. One man has been away since around Halloween!.
After finally checking in, we went for a great dinner at Gerards 1907 Tavern. I had one of the BEST chicken sandwiches and Mike had a great burger!

We arrived to celebrate a belated Christmas with Kim, Landon, and Andy. We were so excited to see Landon, and he was excited to see us, especially since there were presents to open!

It is Landon's birthday and he is so excited! We spent the day playing, baking his birthday cake, and painting and waiting for Mom to come home so he can open open his presents. Trip to Arkansa

Since Landon was feeling better, we took a road trip to the Little Rock Zoo. It was a great day, not too hot, not too cold! Landon was so excited seeing all the animals and playing at several of the playgrounds in the zoo. We also took a train ride! If course. There was a stop in the gift shop! Landon picked out a Vet kit for hom an 2 stuffed animals for Finley and Emmett!
After getting home and after a nap, Landon and I took a walk , well he was riding his bike. After dinner, Landon the Vet took care of ALL his stuffed animals. I was his assistant.

Had a wonderful day with Landon!
We went to the playground for a couple of hours, then after nap, played outside.
I made Pierogi lasagna for dinner.

Arkansas

After a hearty breakfast of turkey bacon, strawberries, and milk, Landon and I went to Let's Play. It is an indoor play area. Unfortunately, the place was not open until 230.
We made an effort to go to the playground. But after 30 min, we were both too cold.
I completed the chicken noodle soup.
After Landon's nap. We went back to the indoor play place for over an hour.
After. We went to Walmart looking for a piggy bank...none found, but thanks to Amazon, one will be delivered today!
For dinner, we (Mike and I) had dinner with Kim! Mexican and margaritas!Read more

It has been a busy, yet wonderful time with Kim, Landon, and Andy. Mike and I and Landon spent time at Little Rock zoo, Let's Play, and the local playground.
We played a lot of Hide and Seek.

Arkansas, good bye

We sadly said good bye to Kim and Landon! Mike and I drove for about 10 hours, stopped in Louisville for the night.
We watched the sunrise in Arkansas and sunset in Louisville KY. Another new breakfast place and a great dinner at Doc Crows. I had lemonade mint julep and a Old Fashioned to take back to the room.

Day 19
Heading to Pittsburgh, the ladt leg of

After a night of rest, we left heading to Pittsburgh. We were excited to get to finally see Finley, Emmett, Alicia, and Drew.
The car is full of Christmas gifts, since we were unable to see them for the holidays.
2 hours before arriving, Kimberly called to say that she (again) got tested for COVID. She had 4 negative rapid tests, But she is still feeling miserable.
Change in plans, we will NOT be staying in Pittsburgh, but will stop to drop off the gifts.
After 700 miles, a major detour due to a multi-vehicle accident (route 80 closed), and 14 hours later, we are now home.Read more

We had a terrific dinner at Doc Crows. They have hundreds of choices of Bourbon.
