Hanoi Old Town

Tried 'egg coffee' which has egg whisked into the foam. It's a bit like tiramisu or zabaglione with strong coffee underneath. We had Bahn Mi for lunch, a hot baguette stuffed with different meats or veg, in a street cafe. Theo, our guide, had to set up the table and chairs on the pavement.
We then headed off for a walking tour of the old town where traffic is a bit chaotic and all the streets are named after the original trades that were carried out in each.
This was followed a water puppet show, unique to Vietnam. Traditionally the puppets are carved by villagers and shows conducted in the river delta. There is hot competition for which village can produce the best puppets and the best performance.
