State House in Hartford, Connecticut

Continuing our political tour of New England, we detoured half hour this morning to take in a running tour of the Connecticut State House. Apparently sometimes called the 'most beautiful ugly building' (according to Lonely Planet) due to the myriad of architectural styles, we thought it was amongst the nicest state houses we had seen so far. Each State House has had a hall of flags, showcasing their states Civil War flags which is always very impressive. Sadly the public galleries to the chambers weren't open so we were reduced to peering through doorways. On to New York's State House now, in Albany.Read more
