    Cafe Noir

    17,000 steps into the day, for those of us with short legs at least, we've taken a break to enjoy a coffee. The only requirement was that the drink should be less bitter than that which came with breakfast which was strong enough to give you a stroke. Cafe Noir in the backstreets of Dorsaduro was calling to us with their window lighting made of Hendrick's bottles. En route (having passed the Cafe earlier), Ben stopped to try some street food in the form of cuttlefish. The cicheri (Venetian tapas) is the local food, and we (by which I mean Ben) will be trying some more in the coming days. Before all of this, we visited the Ca'Pesaro and the museums of oriental and modern art therein. It was nice, after the morning's art, to see works of people we knew, even if we had seen the Rodin sculptures already in Paris. Now, as we relax in Cafe Noir, the chances of moving anytime soon seem minimal...especially as the lovely coffee costs just 1€.Read more
