Located along Lebuh Chulia, The Press Rooftop Bar is a posh, two-storey nightclub that is one of Penang’s current best places to see and be seen at. Downstairs it is a small, intimate space done up primarily with lots of golden dark wood – wooden wall paneling, wood-topped tables and wooden bar stools; the music policy here is a mix of techno, R&B, hip hop and soul. Upstairs, the rooftop is an open air-space featuring a mix of seating styles: there are cabana-like booths with white linen curtains to provide privacy, and simple high tables and chairs closer to the edge (with high railings making sure you don’t fall over). Drinks-wise you will find the usual selection of cocktails, wines, and beers, and all reasonably priced too.

Boom Boom Chambre
Located on a piece of prime real estate along Upper Penang Road, the flashy two-storey Boom Boom Chambre is a Vegas-style nightclub that is equal parts fun and funny. The only adult revue in Penang, it is famous for its Vegas-style cabaret drag queen shows from Wednesday to Saturday nights, where theatrical lounge-singing, exaggerated dance moves and a good dose of sizzling sex appeal are the order of the day.
