    Akaroa rhino

    November 29, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

In Akaroa we went for a walk up a hill and saw sculptures made of metal. We saw some metal giraffes were poking around in the grass in the middle of the walk, and when we got to the top there was a rhino made of old metal. It was really cool.Read more

    Akaroa

    November 28, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

After Jonah's birthday lunch in Christchurch we went to Akaroa. This is a pretty little village with a French feeling to it. French settlers first came here in 1840.

Good to see your beautiful pictures. My favourite is Lewis's expression on the photo with Jonah on the ferry. Looks like you are having an amazing adventure. Its wet and windy back home - you are definitely in the best place right now. Love to the Loach family from the Parfects.x

    Christchurch

    November 28, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

In Christchurch we celebrated Jonah's birthday. We walked around after eating in a really fantastic cafe. Because there was an earthquake in 2011 many buildings were crumpled. We saw the cathedral, which fell down in the earthquake. It was quite scary. After that, we saw the temporary cardboard cathedral, then we got back in the car and drove to Akaroa.Read more

    November 27, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

We rented a house in Kaikoura for two nights. The views were amazing and the sea was very blue. The sand was volcanic sand so it was black. We went for a walk which was very windy but nice. We saw seals and seagulls with their chicks.Read more

    Travelling to South Island

    November 26, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

We left in a ferry to get to the South Island in New Zealand so we could keep travelling on. We got up at 6:30 in the morning so we could get there in time. There was a cinema on the boat where we watched the Greatest Showman and Shrek. There was also a cafe where we had nice drinks and snacks. We got to South Island and hired a car to travel to Kaikoura. After getting to Kaikoura we went to a really lovely house where we are staying now.Read more

    Setting Sail

    November 25, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

On the last day in Wellington, we went on a boat ride; an hour's journey in the sea. The man who owned the boat, Tim, had a Dalmatian called Shape who liked to bark at sea weed passing by. It was really cool and the noises and views were really nice.Read more

    November 24, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

As we stayed in the city of Wellington, where there were lots of Christmas celebrations. There was so much free stuff like cookies, ice skating, fake snow and a foam out. We went to listen to Christmas carols, but eventually left, because it did not feel like Christmas as it was so warm.Read more

    Cable Car

    November 24, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

We went to the cable car. When we got on, the car started to rattle and move. It was really fast and at one point there was another car that stopped at the same time. At the top there was a museum of cable cars and we dressed up, as you can see on the picture below.Read more
