0500, Pacific Central railway station, Vancouver. The early starters are gathering for their adventure across the US.

The train (leaves at 0630) has border checks done before they get on, whereas we have to get off the bus at the “line”, remove our bags, go through the usual questions and passport stamping before reboarding.

Traveler My guess is the train will go all around the wrekin because of the mountains the border was quite near abbotsford canada side where the americans pushed the aircraft over the border into canada during the start of the 2nd world war , have a guess at that one enjoy the train journey through the mountains mike &mo

Traveler Thanks, Mike! We asked our bus driver, and he also thought there we two other reasons - passenger trains MUST give way to freight; and the trains don’t go more than 40 mph.
