Day one - drove to Cirencester. As you can see from the photos, we didn't do much other than drink and eat in 28° heat👌🏻

Day 2
A day exploring the Cotswolds

Today was HOT! After a lazy morning and a lovely breakfast we explored Cirencester a bit more. It took us nearly two days to find the Cirencester Amphitheatre - we would argue that it maybe isn't in Cirencester- but it was well worth the trudge! Quite impressive.
Stopped for a quick drink (beer before 12pm, shh don't tell anyone! The barman said it was acceptable).
We then caught the bus (I know! The bus!) to nearby Bibury. If you were to picture a Cotswold village it would probably look a lot like Bibury - beautiful. (Despite it being very busy). Our stop here included our first ice cream of the trip too, nothing fancy, a good old Mr Whippy - although the ice cream van man renamed it a 'sundae' because it was in a plastic cup and charged us a fortune for it! We sat by the river and just chilled.
Back to Cirencester for drinks and Italian for tea! I also discovered an Aperol Spritzer - cheers to that!Read more

Day 3
Cirencester to Fowey

A 3 hour drive to Fowey yesterday, ended with Craig navigating THE narrowest and busiest streets known to man - The Flow was not so flow then let me tell you (that being said, he was still more flow than we Webbs have ever been)!

Our hotel, The Old Quay House, is beautiful. We have a (small) balcony overlooking the estuary. We spent the afternoon exploring after a small cider pit stop, which finished with a walk to Readymoney beach and St. Catherine's Castle. Craig went even went for a swim, I do have video evidence but it took him too long to get in so the video won't upload!

We then had a (drum roll please) 5 course meal with champagne in our hotel. The food was beautiful! Although we were a little bit tipsy to worry about posh etiquette, we laughed a lot!

We are planning a beach day today, let's hope it is a little less busy than yesterday - the thunderstorms in the forecast might keep people away although "Craig The Flow Schafernacker" assures me that they won't be arriving in fowey, let's hope he is right!Read more

Day 4
Fowey to Polkerris and back

Another scorcher of a day today.

We decided to take the south coast path to Polkerris. We were told it was much shorter than it turned out to be (strava tells us it was around 13km) but nethertheless the views were amazing as we've come to expect. What we didn't expect was the many coves with tiny beaches scattered along the path. We couldn't resist a dip or 2 along the way (Laura even braved the icy cold waters - no photo evidence though, you'll have to take our word for it).

The rest of the day we found ourselves people watching with some fish and chips looking out across the Fowey estuary. Another cracking day!Read more

Fowey to Mousehole

We started the day with a mooch around the Fowey shops. We found the most amazing spot for lunch, it felt like we could have been anywhere in the world (we imagined Bali)! Lunch of drunk mussels in curry sauce with aioli chips was a winner!

We then made the drive the Mousehole - more narrow roads. It's very pretty here although a limited number of pubs! Thankfully we are staying in the Ship Inn who are more than happy to accommodate us! Lovely treat behind the bar for us from Liam and Josie too - thank you both x

We spent the evening drinking champagne on a bench looking through our wedding photos from Jack, can't wait to show you them all! Then back to the pub for a fish and chip tea!Read more

So, a chilled day today on the beach. Craig had his first pasty of the trip! Delicious!

We were rudely interrupted this afternoon by Mother Nature although it was a very brief shower. We retreated to the Rock Pool cafe for corbish cream tea ... until we saw the alcohol menu and instead opted for a cocktail and scone before this time being interrupted by a bunch of wasps.

Minack Theatre Day x

Little trip down the Cornish Coast to Porthcurno today to the Minack Theatre. We were a little worried early on as it was a tad misty, but it eventually lifted.

We got there early to explore before spending an hour or 2 reading on the beach with pasty 2.0.

At the theatre we watched ‘Stones in his Pockets’. A really good little play which made us laugh but it was the scenery which impressed us the most.

Ended the day at a deli in Mousehole where we enjoyed a much anticipated sea food paella... even befriended the poshest couple known to man - Heather and Neil! Craig was secretly hoping they would pay for our meal! They did not - they just wanted to sell us their very expensive house!Read more

Day 8
Mousehole to St.Ives

After a lazy final morning in Mousehole, we drove to St. Ives.

Not being able to check in when we arrived meant the only other option was to go for lunch. Cue the pasty and cider (again). We then wandered the extremely busy streets! I can't wait to get myself in some of the cute little shops!

Check in left us pleasantly surprised as, although our room is small and we didn't think we had a bathroom at first (it's disguised as a wardrobe), we have a balcony with the most amazing view - and they left us some prosecco to enjoy!
