    Poneloya

    September 14, 2017 in Nicaragua ⋅ ⛅ 33 °C

We were up early and departed Granada in a bus. We stopped at Leon very quickly to get some food. After we traveled to Poneloya which was on the coast. We took a boat, then our bags were loaded on a horse and cart to travel 1.2km to the hostel. There was a big dorm for us all to sleep in with ocean views. We had a relaxed afternoon on the beach, swam in the warm water, started reading a new book called the Room and played a bit of volleyball. The sunset was incredible, the colours in the sky and water were so bright and beautiful!
We then had dinner, followed by tequila shots at the bar which had swings for seats, there was a bonfire and lots of mosquitoes. There was a turtle egg hatchery and some poachers came to sell turtle eggs at the hostel. They try to buy four bags of them per night. We all had fun dancing and playing ping pong.
