    September 11, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

    Tuesday 11th September 2018
Arrived Ceduna about 3pm, met Gina at work, went for coffee at the servo (best coffee in town apparently), went to the pub for tea. Gina and I stayed up late going through her old photos, some great memories. She gave me photos saying she had enjoyed them for a time, now it was my turn – gorgeous girl, gotta love her generosity.
    Wednesday 12th September 2018.
Spent the day with Gina, she took us out to Denial Bay, we had a walk along the pier, bloody freezing, blowing a gale. We had lunch at the Oyster Barn, best oysters I’ve ever had. Went into town to do some shopping, picking up some supplies for our journey to the WA border. She took us to the fish market where we picked up some very fresh flake and whiting.
Gina cooked dinner, the best whiting I’ve ever eaten, served on a bed of spinach leaves with roasted beetroot, onion, feta and roasted walnuts. Absolutely delicious. Gina and I stayed up talking whilst Mick caught up on some sleep.

    Head of the Bight

    September 13, 2018 in Australia

Head of the Bight, got some great pictures of a mother and her calf just lazing about below us. Beautiful blue colour of the sea, great shots of the waves crashing against the bluff.
Stopped at a couple of lookouts, great views of the bight. Mick actually let me walk beyond the ropes to get a better view, he even walked beyond them, wonders never cease.Read more

    Fowler's Bay

    September 13, 2018 in Australia

Stopped at Fowlers Bay, caught sight of our first whale, got a distant picture of the whale blowing water. Had a coffee from the café (not brilliant) whilst sitting on our chairs at the ocean. Beautiful blue waters, beach covered in smelly seaweed. A couple fishing on the pier caught a huge flathead.Read more

    September 13, 2018 in Australia

Crossed into the WA border. Had intentions of camping at Eucla, turned out to be a dud, so moved on. Got to Caguina, blowing a gale, so much we would not have been able to put up the tent so stayed in a road house motel. Room very basic, but hot shower very much appreciated. Had the best fish burger, Mick had the steak burger – real burgers with cooked buns, lots of salad, so big could not get my mouth around it. Surprisingly good food given how basic the room was.Read more

    Murrawijinie Caves (Nullarbor)

    September 14, 2018 in Australia

Headed west to start our journey across the Nullarbor Plains. Camped the night at the Murrawijinie Caves – very rough track in, when we eventually found it. Saw some aboriginal rock art; a dingo passed within 50 meters of us, unfortunately did not get a picture of it, moved too fast. Got some great shots of wildflowers and a beautiful sunrise. Only one other camper, camped miles away. It was the most beautiful place.Read more
