    Cuddling Koalas and Phillip Islands

    March 15, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

We hired a car for the day and headed out down the coast towards Phillip Island. Our first stop was at Maru Nature park to get up close and personal with some Australian wild life.

We got to meet Tilly the 7 year old female koala, although I'm not even sure she was aware we were meeting, seeing how she had her dinner laid out in front of her. We did get to give her some belly rubs though, Koala are surprisingly soft.
We found some Kangaroos lazing in the shade, but we were able to tempte them out with some tasty treats. Hand feeding Wallabys and Roos was pretty cool, although not sure how hygienic it was, especially after watching one go to town on his nether regions.

After reluctantly waving goodbye to Tilly and friends we did a quick round of mini golf on their surprisingly good course and then headed south to check out the coastal walks along Phillip Islands coast. As its right on the Pacific Ocean it was a little breezy and looked liked some great surfer spots nestled between amazing rock formations and endless beaches.
