    Tassie tour: Day 2

    March 19, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

--Swansea to St Helens -- 188km

We started out in the cold morning air, it dropped to around 10° over night, the first time we have had to wear jeans and a jumper in a long while. The local tavern had transformed into a cafe and bakery, after a decent croissant we jumped in the car and headed to our first Tasmanian National park, Freycinet, and off on the Wineglass Bay Lookout trail. Unfortunately there was no wine to be had but the 6.5km trail was fantastic with some stunning views. The walk was quite busy as it is Saturday and it seems to be a family and friends thing to do on a weekend in Tassie. We didn't dare to swim (our excuse is that we didn't have our swimming costume) in the wineglass bay but people were! Courageous!

We continued our day up the coast to Bicheno for a fresh fish and chip lunch. The sun finally stopped being shy and we could enjoy the bright colours of the landscape. We stopped at a blowhole (the second of our trip) an underwater cave which spits up water if the waves hit it just right. This one was a lot more impressive and fun that the first one we saw, of course the most impressive jets are always when we're not filming 😏

It was a good day and we felt that we spent it almost like Australian locals, although maybe they do more fishing.
