    Mesa Verde National Park, CO

    November 9, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

Mesa Verde National Park was created in 1960 to preserve the archeological heritage of the Ancestral Pueblo people, both atop mesas and in the cliff dwellings below.
About AD 550, long before European s explored North America, some of the people living in the Four Corners region decided to move to Mesa Verde.
For over 700years these people and their descendants lived and flourished here, eventually building elaborate stone communities in the sheltered alcoves of canyon walls.

    Canyonlands National Park, UT

    November 8, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 8 °C

Canyonlands preserves a wilderness of rock at the heart of Colorado plateau, divided by the Colorado and Green Rivers. Water and gravity, this land's prime architect, cut flat layers of sedimentary rock into hundreds of canyons, mesas, buttes, fins, arches and spires.

Dead Horse Point State Park, UT

    November 8, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 7 °C

An isolated island-mesa towering 2000ft above the Colorado River. The point was once used as a natural corral for wild horses. Dramatic views of the canyon mountains and the river.

    City Marina, Marathon

    September 27, 2015 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 28 °C

We traveled about 3 weeks through the Gulf of Mexico with a few destination stops to get to Marathon, Florida. We finally made it to the Keys!! Felt really good to see our buddy Charlie and now be neighbors like back in Kemah. Boaters are just amazing people. Marathon is chill, everyone is on island time. Everyone motors around in their dingy and travel with bicycles. Its another different lifestyle here, before we had a vehicle but now we just have our two feet and our bicycles ;) We are not connected to electricity so we don't have ac, we are just floating attached to our mooring ball. Its pretty hot but you learn to deal with the heat.
This place has more iguanas than cows in Texas! I like it here but stoked about our next location! :)

    Marco Island, Florida

    September 26, 2015 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

We anorched on Factory Bay along Marco Island for 3 days. Cruising in here was a little nerve racking with the depth varying between 6ft to 9ft! After seeing the other 5 boats anchored in the same area we felt alittle better. This island has a strip of resorts, hotels and loads of beautiful homes with motorboats along the water but yet, a complete "ghost town." It appears to be a slow time after the season is over. We were able to dock the dingy at Rose Marina for 5$. For groceries we walked a few blocks to Publix which wasn't bad. There's a sidewalk along the entire way so I felt safe lol. Overall this was a peaceful place to anchor, thanks Active Captain!Read more
