    Moura.

    September 3, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

We are not stopping for long at most places as they are very small and nowhere to camp. We have reached Moura which is a coal mining town and saw this beautifully painted water tower ! You need to enlarge them to see the Galah clearly. It was difficult to photograph.

    Taroom

    January 7, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

This was our stop for lunch. A small Dachshund was very interested in what we were doing and hung around for ages waiting for a handout. When we did not deliver he headed to some new arrivals to see if they would comply with some offerings. All this area is looking good with the recent rain. Temperature is still better than when we left. Overnight it has been very pleasant.

The lions park in Taroom is a credit to all the hard working volunteers. The amenities block has been decorated with nice murals.

We are on our way with the first trip of 2018. First destination is Tamworth for the country music festival. First stop at Theodore beside the river. We are sitting on the shady side of the van after basic quick setting up. No unhitch and no need to erect any tarp shelter. Tomorrow we will head off after breakfast and a shower.Read more

    Cracow

    August 9, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Took the shortcut along Cracow Road from Wandoan.. 50% dirt, sand & rocks. Wattle trees on both sides, cows on the road. Probably took longer than the highway but 100 kms shorter.
Free caravan park full so stayed in the park and had dinner at the pub. Nigel's lamb chops were very overcooked and they forgot my chicken snitzel. Overpriced. Lesson learned.
Moved to caravan park the following day, managed to just beat another van to the last spot.

    August 23, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Level grassy site opposite the pub. Water & power available for a donation. Dinner at the pub included pepper sauce with no pepper, gristly steak, deep fried thigh fillet snitzel, smothered in sauce when requested on the side, mashed potatoes and chips served together as veg (with others).

    August 13, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

I love seeing this view when I wake up. The birdsong was magnificent this morning

  • Day20
