Chill @ woodcroft! and stress @ adelaide

      February 9, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 37 °C

Monday was a chill day and I stayed the whole day @ Joll. Watched a few movies and downloaded a lot of new ones. I enjoyed the time over here! Just like friends in Netherlands!.

Tuesday I went to get my Dutch simcard, finally I got a new one after 3 months. Slow ozzies here. I also went to a mechanic to make an appointment to check my car for rego. It's real 'easy' here in Australia because every state is like another country in Europe. So imagine to do apk and register your gar in Germany for a dutch license plate. That's like insane. And that's exactly what I have to do here.

After a half day calling and searching I know what my opinions are.

Car is registered in nsw. To renew for nsw I need to do the following things.
      1. Get CTP insurance ($610)
      2. Check your car at an registered mechanic, in nsw($38) or Sa ($120) or VIC ($180)
      3. register online for new rego ($512) with road tax

I need to do this before 26 Feb 2017. And I'm not gonna be in nsw that time, nearest is around 350km from border. So it would cost me around $100 for fuel to drive to one in nsw.

Best would be 610+120+512= $1242 for 12 months

If I transfer my registration to SA I would pay for rego, CTP insurance and road tax around $800.

Thats a lot cheaper and I get new plates. But I have to sell my car in Sa if I leave Australia. And I wanna sell my car in nsw because that's my last location.

So I think it's best to just pay more and hope to get more for my car in Sydney when I'm selling it..

After this day I think that I know more about vehicle registration than most Australian do (including mechanics). Pretty insane right!

Well wensday a vehicle check and a/c check. And then back to the farm to do another few days.

At the end of the day I climbed to mount lofty, you can see all of adelaide from the peak. It took me 1:45 to go up and down. Total track was 8km and some pieces pretty steep. So not to bad while I haven't hiked for a long time. But it was really good, I needed the physical workout!

Today I had the check and it doesn't look that good. A/c Compressor is broken, don't need to fix it for rego. Front Brake discs and pads have to be replaced, need 3 new tires and new Cilinders for brakes back. Those 3 things would cost me 1500 over there. That's way to much! So I looked first for another car. But yeah now I need to pay around 1500 a 2000 to fix my car. But then I don't need to do anything anymore. And to get another car I maybe spend 1000 a 2000 so. Maybe better to keep my car.

I called my friend mohamad in Sydney if he could help me. He said I could fix my own car in his workshop and get a bit of help. Everything will cost me now probably around 1000 and that's including fixing the airco. So thats a lot better.

So after my OTR trip I'll be heading to Sydney for a short week and then go back to Melbourne.

      I’m away too!

      May 4, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Departure day has arrived! I had an early start too but not crazy early like David. And unlike David all my flights were on time or early. I wanted to have a departure bubbly too so I put in a low bid for upgrade, and got it! And I also had a spare seat next to me on the long haul so all very easy. The pilot alerted us to Uluṟu on the right hand side, where I was lucky enough to get a great view. The only glitch was no access to the Singapore lounge as my Koh Samui flight did not have a QF number. But with only an hour to kill I did some long walks around Changi before going to the gate and waiting to see if David makes it to the next flight. And he did! Pick up was easy and here we are, hot and balmy. A cup of tea on the balcony and time for some well earned sleep 💤.Read more

      Adelaide

      March 5, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

      Adelaide Rose Park

      October 30, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

      Arise of Tassiezone

      February 7, 2017 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

Today I posted an add on Facebook that I was looking for a travel mate. Within a few hours I found someone! Haha that was really quickly. And she had almost thesame plans and dates.

Unfortunately a few hours later I had a lot of reactions from other people who wanted to travel with Me. Some where already with 2 persons. It can be really annoying if you travel with someone random you are together for almost 2 weeks so it could be that you gonna hate something on eachother. And when you are traveling with a group you just gonna hang out with someone else.

So I thought, maybe if we have a few persons together we can travel with a group. But I'll see for now how many reactions I get. Unfortunately I got a lot more reactions.

So I decided to make a group with all the people I know wanna travel at thesame time.

You probably would be thinking, why tazziezone? Well I'll probably not be able to go to campzone. So why not make our own variant of campzone. And tassie is short for tasmania. So tassiezone! Currently I just feel like y'tje (yvan) from campzone! He didn't choose to be our hero but most people chose him :-P y'tje is definitely my hero! I really like his spicy nuts!

So I try to be the hero of this group and hopefully I Learn a lot! Also a few bad habits I gonna introduce on this group. One is the beer count system, who yells one gets the beer and he get the amount of beer that's called. Second thing is perudo.. OMG Really! Yeah really. BEST GAME EVER!

Currently I got 8 people together. And I'm the only one with a car. Hopefully it fits :-P.

      Wasserfall Watergully

      February 14, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

      Cleland Wildlife Park

      November 30, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

    • Day 3

      How to hug a Koala

      January 15, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

    • Day 2

      Start your engines

      November 25, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

We got to the track in plenty of time - very quiet this year and our usual park was ready and waiting. The layout was a little different but we found a spot with a view of our fave turn 9 and set up our chairs on a little mound. The weather was struggling and pretty cool. Of course I had inadequate clothing. As the day progressed the sun made a few efforts and sunburn was a possibility - no hats of course. Anyway we watched several support races and the all important top 10 shootout. K had catered and the smoked salmon rolls were A.MAZE.ING! We were entertained by the state of the art F35 Hornet - he had a lot of fun and it was the closest display to date - worth the price of admission right there! The race was absorbing and well driven but without crashes and safety cars (good and so so) - we had a great view of both the corner and a screen so a great day - even though the sun disappeared and it got a big too chilly for me. Cam Waters won and he gave us a fine display to celebrate! Tomorrow? #bringitonRead more
