    Broome Sunset Cablebeach

    July 10, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Read more

    July 10, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Today we have arrived in Broome. There is a beach 🏝 called Cable Beach. In Broom there is an amazing 😉 crocodile park; it’s got crocs (obviously), tawny frog mouths birds, even macaws and lots more! I love Broome because you can ride camels 🐪 which we did in our Kimberley trip. Tomorrow we are going to the crocodile park; and after we are going straight to Cable Beach 🏖 to have dinner, sun-set photos, a swim and look for animals in rock pools. Today we went swimming and looking for animals in rock pools as well. 😁😀😄🤩 On the way here we stopped in front of HUGE boab trees 🌳. Tonight we are watching Australian Ninja Warrior and half of the movie 🎥 storks. Good night everybody!Read more

    Cable Beach, Broome Day 2-3

    September 2, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Day 2: In the morning went to the Court House Market and then to the Jetty on the end of Roebuck Bay. The Aqua Centre near the Jetty rehabilitates sick turtles and then releases them back into the wild. In the afternoon we were entertained by the Shinjo Matsuri Festival (Festival of the Pearls). Part of the proceedings was the 'awakening' of Sammy the Dragon.
Day 3: First visit of the day was the Broome Museum, afterwards watched the street parade. The Runway Tavern provided us with a GF Fish platter for two. After an enjoyable meal we went to oldest outdoor picture theatre in Australia, the Sun Picture Theatre, and watched Dunkirk.

Had coffee in town and looked around the shops. Went out to the Mango Place at 12 Mile for lunch and then to Bunnings to swap a gas bottle. Walked down to Cable Beach for the sunset.Read more

    Japanese Cemetery

    November 9, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

This was a Japanese cemetery commemorating the lives of the early Japanese pearl divers that were lost at sea or drowned as they harvested pearls from the ocean floor.
Apparently this style of cemetery is traditional in the used the headstones as well as the orderly placement of the graves.
The last photo in the sequence Ishtar busiest and best coffee cart in Broome...actually pretty sure it is the only one.Read more
