Unfortunately our Perth caravan park suddenly filled up for the weekend and we were faced with the fact we'd have to drive to the next spot after disembarking the Rottnest ferry. Luckily it was an easy 3 hour drive from Perth to Peppermint Grove Beach - the first night driving we'd done in a LONG time!
We arrived in the sleepy little beachside spot just before 9pm and had numerous campsites to choose from. We'd actually stayed here last time around and Glen had joined us for the weekend - not much has changed in 19 years and that's not a bad thing!
On Saturday morning we did the short walk down to the beach and the kids had some fun on the playground nearby and then the boys all headed to the nearby town of Capel (no shops in our town!) to watch the AFL Grand Final at the local pub. Jen and Meg headed back to the playground and beach to do some dolphin spotting (3, straight off the beach!) and beach combing. Meg was excited to discover sea urchin shells to share with the boys. An impromptu cricket game back at the caravan park finished off the afternoon and then we enjoyed toasted marshmallows on our open fire after dinner. Great caravan park!Read more
