  • Day173

    Canberra

    March 20, 2017 in Australia

    Day 37

    July 3 in Australia

Up early this morning and off to Kenny and Pays truck shop in Dubbo to get the wheel alignment done on the caravan, thanks Russel for a great and fast job to get us on the road by 10 this morning, yep heading south to the cold weather. On the Mitchell Hwy first town was Wellington a lovely place that we have stayed at before, then onto Molong where we turned on to the B81 and headed through Cudal and Canowindra and then onto Cowra for our first fix of junk food for 5 weeks at KFC yum yum 👅. Still on the B81 the Lachlan Valley Way we went through Breakfast Creek and the onto our normal overnight stop at Boorowa, decided to keep on motoring to the Hume Hwy and then onto Canberra as per usual takes a lot of thinking to get onto the bypass, all good punched out the other side and on the lookout for a camp spot, went through Michelago, Bredbo and we stopped at the numeralla free camp at 5:30, good spot tucked off the road with toilets, phone, TV, got the diesel heater on, chicken Kiev and veg for dinner with a couple of drinks, all good 👍Read more

  • Day177

    Cooma, New South Wales

    August 25, 2016 in Australia

We were fairly relaxed all day and therefore didn’t realise how quickly it was becoming dark, still not knowing where we would spend the night. As the night descended so did the rain and by the time we pulled up into a roadside gravel pit it was almost snowing outside so we set up as quickly as we could with numb fingers and noses and settled for sandwiches for dinner before trying every means of warming up and eventually dozing off whilst wearing layer upon layer including our heavy winter coats. The following morning, still incredibly fresh, provided us with spectacular views of the mountains around us and we enjoyed the scenery even more over a hot breakfast of sausages, eggs, tomato, avocado and toast. It was only 5 hours to Sale and the weather had made up our mind about when to head home. The trip had come to an end and we headed home looking forward to connecting with family and friends once again before our next adventure takes us away.Read more
