Der Coronation Beach ist einer der besten Kite- und Windsurfing Spots von Australien. Drum haben wir hier einige Tage bei kräftigem Wind am Wasser verbracht. Da Sarah nicht immer allein am Strand rumsitzen wollte, haben wir uns einen kleinen Trainer-Kite gekauft, sodass sie nun auch mit dem Kiten lernen anfangen kann. Am Freitag war auch ein großes Kite-Event in Geraldton, wo man zig Kitesurfern beim Fahren und Springen über Wellen zuschauen konnte. Mittlerweile sind wir schon auf der Indian Ocean Road unterwegs, wo es ein paar schöne kostenlose Campingorte direkt am Meer gibt.

The Coronation Beach is one of the best kite- and windsurfing spots of Australia. So we spent a few days here with strong winds at the water. Because Sarah didn't want to sit idle at the beach all the time, we bought a small trainer-kite, so that she can also begin to learn the kitesurfing. On Friday there was a big Kite-Event in Geraldton, where you could watch countless kitesurfers while surfing and jumping the waves. Bei ziemlich schwachen Wind mühte sich Mario beim Surfen am Coronation Beach ab. Müde konnte er danach die Abendstimmung geniessen.

Endlich Wind!

Der Tag begann gemütlich und ruhig am Strand. Nach und nach wurde der Wind dann stärker und die sonst recht verlassene Surfer Bucht begann sich zu füllen.

Entlang der Great Ocean Road, machten wir einige kleine Fotostops. Bis wir uns am Coronation Beach zur Übernachtung niedergelassen haben.
Handy Empfang gleich null, es war ein Traum! Pure Natur, das Geräusch des Ozeans und eine unendlich weite Sicht. (Und wie auch anders erwartet, kein fließend Wasser.)
Achja und meine erste Erfahrung mit einem Plumpsklo. Einmal und gerne nie wieder.Read more

Northampton

Did a stop over at Northampton on the way to Kalbarri. In case you can't guess from the photos we are now in sheep country...also wheat and canola. So green after weeks of red soil.
A very pretty town with another church by Monsignor John Hawes. I think this is the last one in this area. A bus tour group was in at the same time. Made I had to get photos without large groups of strange people in them.
They have an amazing seniors center. Were just opening for the day and invited us in the view the painters works. Then chased us down the road to let us know they were open to 3pm if we wanted to came back at all. There building is behind the red flowers. The arts and craft centre was closed. They do have a sewing machine museum. But didn't drag Graham through. Even though I love to sew not really into museums full of old stuff.

Stayed at the True Blue Van Park on the way back from Kalbarri. Was very nice.Read more

Coronation Beach

Coronation Beach is the place to go for Windsurfing and kite surfing, apparently, so it was very windy, but it was a beautiful location.

The girls enjoyed another beautiful morning swimming, body boarding, playing with the seaweed, and we even enjoying some dance routines.

We went to Geraldton for the day to do some shopping, it has been quite a while since we got to go shopping, there weren't any shopping centres up north, so it was a lovely day. Kensie spent some of her birthday money on a lovely Eevee pokemon bag.Read more
