    Jaques Coffee plantation.

    August 8, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Our second visit here. This is a well worth the short drive out of Mareeba to experience one of their coffees and a delicious scone.

The Jaques family has fought great obstacles and seeing the short movie is well worthwhile. A true gritty story of battling nature, stupid beurocracy and government stupid that enters a new level of dumb.Read more

    Jaques Coffee Plantation

    July 24, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

We watched a documentary giving a good overview of the coffee industry from seed to cup. It included the history of the Jaques Family and their struggle and tenacity to bounce back from ruin not once but three times!
    Superb staff, and excellent coffee.

We said goodbye to Kevin,Rae,Richard and Trina yesterday after traveling with them for almost a month. We had some great times together and it was a bit emotional saying goodbye. Thanks you guys for all the planning. We were happy to follow.

    Gallo dairy farm. Mareeba

    July 15, 2018 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

We stopped at this cheese, chocolate and dairy farm. We bought some nice cheese and chocolate, but the different thing about this place was the animals in pens around the property and a variety of different poultry. Also got to see the rotating milking machine - a first for me.Read more

    Coffee & Chocolate

    October 5, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

It was just lovely to sit outside this morning drinking my morning coffee under the awning and enjoying the already warm sunshine. Even more perfect was my scrambled eggs served to me - great start to the day!

Today we decided to head to Mareeba, and we checked out a distillery there, set on a beautiful banana farm. We didn’t do tastings, just checked it out as a place we will come back to next week with our boy and my mum who are coming to stay with us in Cairns.

Next we headed to Coffee Works where we did coffee, chocolate and liquor tastings, checked out the shop, tried more coffee, chocolate and liquor, checked out the coffee museum, tried more coffee, chocolate and liquor, watched a video about coffee and tried just a little more coffee, chocolate and liquor.

After all the tastings it’s no wonder we had no appetite for lunch today!

On the way home we did a bit of caravan shopping in Atherton and then headed back to potter around making dinner and fixing bits and pieces.

We ate outside enjoying the cooling air before heading inside to chill out.

    Night night xx
